The Cause

Funds raised from the event will be used to support scholarships initiatives at the Nashville State Community College.

Every year, thousands of high school graduates throw off caps and gowns to begin new lives as adults. Unfortunately, college is an impossible dream for many young adults due to financial limitations. The NSCCF, through its generous donors, provides scholarships to ensure that today’s students have access to a college education. Make a difference tomorrow by giving these students a college education today. Every penny of every dollar you donate goes directly to student scholarships!

About NSCC

The Nashville State Community College Foundation is a non-profit corporation chartered in 1994 for the exclusive support and benefit of Nashville State Technical Community College.  The Foundation, with utmost integrity and respect for its donors, accepts and administers all gifts for the benefit of the college.

How Decisions Are Made

A 29 member Board of Trustees (comprised of 24 voting members) including both volunteers from the Nashville community and employees of the college meet quarterly to discuss the issues facing the Foundation and the College.  Most of the Board of Trustees’ involvement comes at the committee level.

Words from Past Scholarship Recipients

“I would like to express my thanks for your generous scholarship. It has enabled and empowered me to have a much more valuable education than I would have otherwise had. As I finish my two year degree and transfer to the University of Tennessee Knoxville, I am confident that my education at Nashville State will lead me to success wherever I look for it.” - Trey, 2nd year General Education

“My family recently went through an extremely difficult year financially, and with this scholarship a burden has been lifted. I know the money that I have been given is being put toward the best education. The education, the environment of this campus and the friends that I have made are far better than I could have ever dreamed of getting out of a college experience.” - Marty, 1st year Culinary Arts

“As a single (and working!) mother of two children, Nashville State Community College Foundation’s scholarship came to the rescue just when I needed it the most, putting my mind at ease so that I could focus on my studies and fulfill my dream of becoming the first college graduate in my family. I truly appreciate your generosity.” - Meredith, 2nd year Police Science

“Thinking back through the school year I am almost brought to tears. A year and a half ago I would not have thought that any of this could be possible. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the tremendous opportunities—both in my education and extracurricular activities—that this scholarship has allowed me to take advantage of.” - Devon, 1st year Biology

“I had a difficult time because last Christmas my father suffered a serious heart attack that forced him to have a six by-pass heart surgery. The surgery cost my family a tremendous amount to which I contributed all of my savings just to somehow help. When this school year came around I realized that I did not have enough money to pay the difference for my tuition since I contributed my savings to my father’s bill. To earn money I considered canceling my classes so that I could work. However, thanks to your generous help, I was able to reduce the amount that I had to pay, and I am now able to afford the difference.” - Jeff, 2nd year Computer Accounting
